Nico Collins Scores in Prime-Time Win

Nico Collins

The spotlight on Sunday night football was stolen by none other than the Houston Texans' wide receiver, Nico Collins. The 6-foot-4 powerhouse, weighing nearly 230 pounds, marked his first touchdown for 2024, and it was nothing short of spectacular.

As the first quarter unfurled, Collins bulldozed his way through the field, commanding attention with a 28-yard reception that led to Houston's opening touchdown. This home victory of 19-13 wasn't just a win; it was a stage set to display Collins’ size, strength, and skills.

Collins, along with the Texans' quarterback, C.J. Stroud, proved to be an unstoppable force. The dynamic duo connected for both an 18-yard and a 16-yard reception in the second quarter of Sunday's contest.

Collins led all wideouts with eight catches and receiving yards worth 135. And these were not ordinary catches. Collins’ second-quarter receptions from Stroud were all out-of-structure situations, where Stroud escaped the pocket to avoid Chicago's pass rush.

Houston fans have been witnessing this dance between Stroud and Collins time and again over the last year. And Sunday was no different. They showcased their scramble-drill skill for a national audience, the first of six prime-time games on Houston's 2024 calendar. It’s this brilliant combination that makes this duo one to watch for in the forthcoming games.
